Takes actual value and expected value, compares them for equality, and report failure if values are not equal.
Note: If actual or expected, or both values are NULL then assert will fail. 

Arguments

  • v_ActualValue - actual value, Variable Character(255), SQL Server uses NVARCHAR(MAX)
  • v_ExpectedValue - expected value, Variable Character(255), SQL Server uses NVARCHAR(MAX)
  • v_UserMessage – message to report when assertion fails, Variable Character(255), SQL Server uses NVARCHAR(MAX)

 

Examples

SQL Server

      EXEC DBTD_ASSERT_ARE_EQUAL 5, 5, ‘Values should be the same’;

Oracle

      DBTD_ASSERT_ARE_EQUAL (5, 5, ‘Values should be the same’);

Netezza

      CALL DBTD_ASSERT_ARE_EQUAL (5, 5, ‘Values should be the same’);
